Kannada Association of Indianapolis (also known as Mallige) is a non-profit organization which brings together Kannada language speaking people from India who have made central Indiana their home.
This is a vibrant and fast growing community in the city of Indianapolis, Indiana and its surrounding areas such as Fort Wayne, Muncie, West Lafayette, Bloomington, and Terre Haute.
The organizations' goal is to celebrate the rich culture and traditions of the people of the state of Karnataka, and pass them on to future generations of Kannadigas in the United States.
This goal is being accomplished not only through celebrating traditional festivals in the Hindu calendar, but also through outdoor activities. For example; picnics, music concerts, plays and dance. In addition to the family oriented activities, delicious cultural food is given a very important place in the agenda.
